New furnace last year but the house was still uneven. Turned out the original ducting was never resized for it. They showed me the airflow numbers room by room and fixed it properly.

Air Duct Cleaning for Arden-Arcade homes
Arden-Arcade holds some of the region's most individual mid-century housing, and that individuality is exactly what makes the duct work here interesting. Arden Park, Sierra Oaks and Arden Oaks contain a great many custom and semi-custom homes from the fifties and sixties, frequently single-story with low rooflines, wide floor plans and the long horizontal duct runs that come with both. Low-pitch roofs mean cramped attic space, so the ducting was often routed wherever it would physically fit rather than where it should have gone, and in some of these houses portions of the system run under the slab. Del Paso Manor and the surrounding streets are more conventional tract housing of the same era. Across the whole area the systems have usually been replaced at least once while the ductwork around them never was.
Low-pitch mid-century rooflines leave very restricted attic space, so runs were routed for fit rather than performance and are frequently crushed or sharply turned. It is common here to find modern replacement equipment connected to original ducting that was never resized to suit it.

Process
How the visit works
Walkthrough and count
We count supplies and returns, locate the air handler, check filter size and note access. Scope and price are confirmed before work starts.
Camera inspection
A duct camera goes into the trunk so you can see the actual starting condition rather than take our word for it.
System under vacuum
The negative-air machine is connected at the trunk and the whole system is placed under suction for the duration of the job.
Register-by-register agitation
Rotary brushes and compressed-air whips work each branch so debris is driven toward the vacuum, one line at a time.
Return and blower compartment
The return drop, filter housing and blower compartment are cleaned, since this is where the heaviest loading is usually found.
Final camera pass and walkthrough
We re-photograph the same trunk sections, walk you through the comparison, and reinstall every register.

Questions
FAQs
We replaced the furnace but the house is still uneven. Why?
That is the standard Arden-Arcade pattern: new equipment connected to original ductwork that was never resized for it. The comfort problem lives in the distribution, not the box, and it shows up clearly once we measure airflow room by room.
Some of our ducts seem to run under the floor. Do you handle that?
Yes. Under-slab and low-attic routing both appear in this area. They need assessing before quoting because access drives the work, so we inspect and photograph first.
How long does a full duct cleaning take?
A typical single-system Sacramento home takes about three to four hours. Two-system homes, or homes with more than about twenty registers, usually run five to six.
Will you make a mess in the house?
No. The system is under vacuum the entire time, so debris travels away from the living space. Registers are removed carefully, drop cloths go down, and the equipment stays outside.
