Clogged dryer vents are one of the leading causes of residential fires in the United States, and the risk is entirely preventable. The problem in this area is usually run length and routing. Two-story homes in Elk Grove, Roseville and Folsom often put the laundry upstairs, which means a long vertical run with one or two elbows before the lint ever reaches the exterior hood. Every elbow is a collection point. Older single-story homes have the opposite problem: short runs that terminate under a low eave where the exterior flap gets painted shut, blocked by a screen, or colonised by birds in spring. Either way the dryer works harder, runs longer, and pushes hot lint into a space that will eventually hold enough fuel to matter.
If you are not satisfied with the result, we come back and make it right at no charge.
Benefits
Brushed from the drum connection all the way to the exterior hood. Cleaning only the accessible first section leaves the actual problem in place.
A powered rotary brush breaks the packed lint loose while the vacuum captures it, so nothing gets pushed further into the duct.
Painted-shut flaps, crushed hoods, screens and bird nests are the most common terminal blockages. We clear or flag them.
We measure the airflow at the hood after cleaning so there is an objective before-and-after, not just a bag of lint.
The flexible hose behind the dryer is checked for crushing and for the foil or vinyl types that are no longer code compliant.
If we find something that needs more than a cleaning — a disconnected joint inside a wall, a crushed run — you get it documented.

Process
We locate the routing, measure the length, count the elbows and check the exterior termination before starting.
The dryer is moved out and disconnected so the run can be worked from the correct end.
A powered brush is fed the entire distance while the vacuum runs, breaking loose packed lint rather than compacting it.
The termination is cleared, and a flap that no longer seals or opens is flagged or replaced.
The lint that has collected behind the machine and around the trap housing is removed while access is open.
The dryer is reconnected, the joint is sealed properly and airflow at the hood is measured and reported.

Questions
Once a year for a typical household. Every six months if you have a large family, dry a lot of pet bedding, or have a long upstairs run with multiple elbows.
It is the configuration most likely to need regular attention. A vertical run with elbows collects lint faster than a short horizontal one, and it is also the hardest to reach without the right equipment.
Yes. We measure airflow at the exterior hood before and after. A partially blocked run shows up clearly as a low reading even when the dryer sounds normal.
Yes. Painted-shut flaps, crushed hoods and bird nests are extremely common here and are often the entire cause of the problem.
